The Charlois Life

We wish we could say that the Charlois Life is an easy one.  It’s just not; anytime we dedicate our selves to being the best we can be there is going to be obstacles.  We will say that it is worth it.  The more you invest in yourself the fewer problems you’re going to have.  That takes into account that life happens and we just have to deal with it.

My recent experience bears this out.  I’ve been working on this website / blog project for several months now, and there always seems to be something that gets in the way.  I just can’t seem to find my zone.

Add to that general life issues.  This past Sunday we had a resident pass away and that set the tone for the day.  By the time it was over we had 4 EMS calls which left people wondering, “who’s next?”  No one else passed away but it was like a dark cloud was hanging over the Manor.

When days go this way, it takes something out of a person, leaving them drained.  When that happens, the best thing we can do is take time to recharge.  That means putting other things on hold.

The Charlois Philosophy teaches a preemptive approach.  We believe if we are taking the necessary steps to improve ourselves then we’ll be better able to deal with the struggles that come our way.

The Stoics teach, prepare for the worst, practice your response, and handle the crisis as best you can.  We agree.

Prepare yourself.  Become the best you can be, and enjoy the abundant life.
